2018 Ford Explorer

<p>Standard on the Explorer and XLT trims is a 3.5-liter Ti-VCT V-6 engine pumping out 290 horsepower and 255 pound-feet of torque. The Limited comes equipped with a 2.3-liter EcoBoost I-4 engine with 280 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. And finally, the Sport and Platinum trims come standard with a twin-turbo 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6 churning out 365 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed automatic transmission accompanies all the engines.</p>

<p>All 2018 Explorer trims come loaded with Electronic Power Assist Steering, Hill Start Assist, and Curve Control, which can sense whether you are entering a curve too quickly and slow the vehicle by as much as 10 mph. Ford's Hill Descent Control and Terrain Management System come standard in the Sport and Platinum models, and as you might expect, the Sport trim offers more responsive steering and a sport-tuned suspension. <p>Let's start by discussing the 2018 Explorer's generous interior space, which can comfortably seat up to seven passengers. The second row has a 60/40 fold-flat bench that can be upgraded to bucket seats, and the third row has a 50/50 split-fold bench seat. With every seat in use, there's still 21 cubic feet of cargo space available.</p> <p>Of course, the Explorer also has all the available technology you would expect in a vehicle of its caliber. <p>Last but not least, the 2018 Explorer gets a five-star rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA). While the base model doesn't offer many driver-assist technologies, you can rest easy knowing that all the basic safety features are covered. From the XLT up, you can add features like a Blind Spot Information System (BLIS), a Lane-Keeping System, and a 180-degree front camera.</p>
