2018 Ford Escape

<p>Three engine options are available on the 2018 Ford Escape, and all trims come with a six-speed automatic transmission. Standard on the S trim is a 2.5-liter iVCT I-4 with 168 horsepower and 170 pound-feet of torque. Both the SE and SEL come equipped with a 1.5-liter EcoBoost I-4 engine pumping out 179 horsepower and 177 pound-feet of torque. Lastly, reserved for the Titanium trim is a 2.0-liter Twin Scroll EcoBoost I-4 delivering an impressive 245 horsepower and 275 pound-feet of torque.</p>

<p>All the trims come with standard front-wheel drive, traction control, electric power-assisted steering (EPAS), integrated blind-spot mirrors, and four-wheel antilock brakes. The top-three trims can also be upgraded to include an intelligent four-wheel-drive system. Overall, this vehicle is said to offer a smooth ride with sharp steering, making it more athletic than other vehicles in its class.</p>

<p>The interior is spacious, with more room in both rows than many of its competitors as well as a greater cargo capacity. All trims come with 60/40 split-fold rear seats, and when fully folded down, the Escape offers 68 cubic feet of cargo space. Dual-zone climate control on all but the base model will ensure your passengers remain comfortable as well.</p> <p>In terms of technology, the Escape's first two trims come equipped with Ford's SYNC enhanced voice-recognition and entertainment system, which offers a Wi-Fi hot spot for up to 10 devices, and the two highest trims add SYNC 3 and SYNC Connect. All but the base trim come with SiriusXM satellite radio and SiriusXM Traffic, and the SE and SEL trims add an optional voice-activated navigation system, which comes standard on the Titanium trim.</p>

<p>The 2018 Ford Escape comes with all the airbags and seatbelt-related safety features you might expect to find in a vehicle of its class. You can also upgrade the top three trims to include the Ford Safe and Smart Package, which will increase your safety factor with features like adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, Ford's Blind Spot Information System (BLIS), a lane-keeping system, and windshield wiper de-icers.</p>
